Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Uxbridge Movers has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our business operations and supply chains. Uxbridge Movers is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, and to implementing effective controls and safeguards to ensure modern slavery does not take place.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Uxbridge Movers operates in the removals and relocation sector, providing moving and related services to residential and commercial clients. Our supply chains include subcontracted transport providers, temporary labour providers, packing material suppliers, facility services, and various professional and support services.
We recognise that some parts of our supply chain may be at higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where manual work, tight deadlines, and cost pressures are present. As a result, we are focused on promoting transparency, fair working practices, and accountability throughout our operations and among our suppliers.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
Uxbridge Movers maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, servitude, and human trafficking. This applies to our own operations and to every organisation with which we choose to work. Any evidence of modern slavery in our business or supply chain will lead to decisive action, which may include termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and other appropriate measures.
We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers, and other business partners. We also expect our suppliers to hold their own suppliers to similar standards, ensuring that respect for human rights and fair working conditions is embedded at every level of the supply chain.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
To support our zero-tolerance stance, Uxbridge Movers carries out risk-based due diligence on new and existing suppliers. This includes assessing the nature of the services provided, the location of operations, and the potential vulnerability of workers in those environments.
Where we identify higher-risk areas, we may implement additional checks, request further documentation, or conduct targeted audits. These audits may cover recruitment practices, working hours, pay and conditions, worker welfare, and grievance mechanisms. Suppliers are required to cooperate fully with these checks and to provide honest and transparent information about their labour practices.
If a supplier is unable or unwilling to meet our standards, we will work with them to improve compliance within a reasonable timeframe. If satisfactory improvements are not made, Uxbridge Movers may suspend or end the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Raising Concerns
Uxbridge Movers encourages a culture of openness and accountability. We want employees, workers, contractors, and other stakeholders to feel confident to raise concerns about any issue related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices without fear of retaliation.
Concerns can be reported through internal management channels or through designated reporting routes made available to staff and key suppliers. All concerns will be treated seriously and reviewed promptly. Where necessary, investigations will be carried out, and appropriate corrective or disciplinary action will be taken.
We will not tolerate any form of victimisation of individuals who raise concerns in good faith, and we are committed to maintaining confidentiality as far as is reasonably possible in the circumstances.
Training and Awareness
Uxbridge Movers provides relevant staff with training and guidance on recognising the signs of modern slavery and understanding the steps to take if they suspect exploitation. This includes managers, supervisors, and those responsible for procurement, supplier management, and workforce planning.
We also share our expectations with key suppliers and contractors, making clear that we require compliance with all applicable labour and human rights laws and our own modern slavery standards.
Monitoring and Annual Review
Uxbridge Movers is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to combating modern slavery and human trafficking. We monitor the effectiveness of our policies and procedures through regular internal reviews, supplier performance assessments, and feedback from staff and stakeholders.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed at least once every year. As part of this review, we will consider changes in legislation, industry best practice, and any issues identified through audits, incident reports, or stakeholder engagement. Where necessary, we will update our processes, training, and supplier requirements to strengthen our controls and further reduce the risk of modern slavery within our business and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Uxbridge Movers and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and protecting the rights and dignity of all workers associated with our operations.
